Financing Options for Airplane Pilot Training

A lack of funds shouldn’t stand in the way of achieving your aviation dreams. At LEFA, there are plenty of options to help finance your airplane pilot training program. Many of the below programs are specifically tailored to flight school students, so they know how to help you get the most out of your financing.

GI Bill® Benefits

We’re proud supporters of the active military and Veteran communities. LEFA was one of the first flight schools in the country to be approved to offer veteran flight training benefits in the Pacific Northwest. Our comprehensive additional benefits for veterans include the Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33), the Montgomery GI Bill® – Active Duty (Chapter 30), and VR&E (when approved by individual counselors).

COCC X LEFA Direct

The COCC program offers lower interest rates, lower instruction rates, and includes a degree. Degrees in aviation expand your employment opportunities when considering pilot management positions, or in the event you transition out of a pilot career due to unforeseen medical circumstances.

Become A LEFA Certified Flight Instructor

If you have your degree and are hired with Leading Edge, you can also work as an instructor for students in the college program. If you do not have your degree, you cannot instruct students in the college program. Approximately 50% of our current airplane students flying with Leading Edge are also enrolled in the college program.

More students = more flight time = quicker movement to the next step in your career.

Experience The Leading Edge Advantage

We recognize that financing is an obstacle for many who dream of attending flight school. We’ve done two things to help make students’ aviation dreams more obtainable. First, as an FAA Part 141 approved program, we can provide higher quality training in less time and lower cost. Second, we’ve expanded our financing options and work proactively with our potential students to help them find their path to the pilot’s seat.

After instructing I got the opportunity to work in Alaska, delivering parts and supplies to a remote gold mine. It helped pave the way to land my current job at a 135 operation. I fly C207s into the local villages delivering cargo and passengers in the Yukon Delta where driving is not always an option. It’s always good to maintain relationships in the aviation community because you never know who’s going to help you get to the next step in your career– or who you may help!
